Why we train this
Every class combines athletic movement, strategy, and technical practice — helping teens build physical skills and mental focus at the same time. Sessions include warm-ups and mobility drills, footwork and guard training, partner exercises for timing and teamwork, sword and shield techniques focused on defense, control, and counterattacks, and controlled sparring and games to apply what they've learned in fun, safe scenarios. Coaches guide every drill to ensure safety and good form, giving students both freedom and feedback as they progress.
Historic roots
The sword-and-shield curriculum taught in Youth Soft Sword is inspired by the techniques of medieval and renaissance sword masters. Students explore how historical warriors balanced power and precision — reimagined through safe, modern training. This class connects teens to Europe's martial heritage while focusing on physical growth, teamwork, and self-discipline.
