Rapier — Adults 18+

The thrust-focused civilian sword of the 16th and 17th centuries — precision, measure, and elegant technique.

Rapier joins the adult curriculum this October. This class focuses on the refined art of thrust-oriented fencing with the long-bladed civilian sidearm of Renaissance Europe. Students develop precise footwork, blade control, measure, and tactical subtlety in a supportive environment. No prior experience with rapier is required.

Why we train this

The rapier represents one of the most sophisticated expressions of personal defense in European martial arts. Its emphasis on timing, distance, and minimal movement creates fencers of exceptional precision. Rapier training also provides excellent cross-training benefits for other weapon systems and deepens understanding of fencing theory.

Loaner equipment is available for trial classes and for new students.

Trial policy

Every BladeFit Academy program uses the same trial policy: a one-time $5 paid trial class. Loaner gear is provided for the trial, so nothing needs to be purchased in advance.
